Kandaghat police arrest 2 Kasauli youths with 413g cannabis
Case registered under Sections 20 and 29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act
In a decisive strike against drug traffickers, the Kandaghat Police last evening arrested two youths from Kasauli with a cache of contraband.
Solan SP Gaurav Singh informed that while patrolling the area last evening, the team received a tip-off that two youths in a car, en route from Shimla to Solan, were in possession of a large quantity of cannabis.
The police team intercepted the vehicle and arrested Karan (22) and Shahrukh Khan (30), both residents of Bathol village near Dharampur, with 413g of cannabis. The police are tracing the backward and forward linkages of this case after registering an FIR under Sections 20 and 29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act at Kandaghat police station.
The accused’s car has also been taken into police custody. Both accused were produced in court today. Their prior criminal records are also being scrutinised as the investigation proceeds, the SP said.
