Palampur, March 25

Food and Civil Supplies Minister and BJP candidate from Kangra Kishan Kapoor called on senior party leader Shanta Kumar last evening to seek his blessings.

For the Lok Sabha elections, the party has replaced four-time MP Shanta Kumar with Kapoor. Shanta Kumar had won the last parliamentary elections with a record margin of 1.75 lakh votes.

Kapoor along with Vipin Parmar and other party leaders and MLAs reached the residence of Shanta Kumar and urged him to take over the command of his election management.

Kapoor said it was Shanta Kumar who inducted him to the BJP and made him MLA and minister many times. The minister said the BJP had given him ticket at the behest of Shanta Kumar only.

He described the four-time MP as the most popular and tallest leader of the party.

Shanta Kumar said every vote was valuable. “Those who are unhappy with the party in the present political scenario should also be taken into confidence and their services should be utilised for the party,” he said.
