The district administration of Lahaul Spiti is ready to conduct the panchayati raj elections in the district. The election is scheduled on September 29 and October 1.
DC Neeraj Kumar said the preparation had been done to conduct a fair election.
He said the campaigning would be prohibited on the day of polling.
“The counting of votes will start on October 4 at 8:30 am. The ballot boxes will be kept safe in girls’ hostel building of Government Senior Secondary School, Keylong, and the counting will be held in the examination hall of the school,” he said.
The election will be held for 10 wards of zila parishad and 15 wards of panchayat samiti.
