The Keylong-Leh road, which was restored to vehicular movement on Monday, was blocked today after a truck loaded with iron rods overturned near Zingzingbar.
Tourists going towards Leh got stuck and had to return Darcha and Keylong. The authorities said the road would be restored by tomorrow.
Earlier, the road remained blocked for more than six months due to snow. The route is used by civilians and military convoys to reach Ladakh and Leh.
The 474-km highway is maintained by the Border Roads Organisation, which remains closed in winter following heavy snow.
