The higher reaches of Lahaul and Spiti, Kangra and Chamba are likely to receive light snowfall from tomorrow onwards. The conditions for light snowfall will prevail in these areas up to December 3. “In rest of the state, the weather will largely remain dry,” said an official of the weather department.

The state has been enduring a prolonged dry spell since the beginning of October. While October was minus 97 per cent rain deficient, November has seen just 0.2 mm rain, much less than the normal precipitation of 19.7 mm this month.

“The deficiency this month is nearly 99 per cent,” he said. Only Chamba and, Lahaul and Spiti have received some rain this month, the other ten districts were almost dry. The average minimum and maximum temperatures at the moment are normal at most places in the state.
