Literary week: Solan school abuzz with activity

Padma Shri NN Mohan Geeta Adarsh Vidyalaya, Solan, celebrated its annual literary week “English Litera Fiesta: Carnival of English Week” from July 8 to July 15.

The week-long celebration aimed at providing a dynamic platform for young minds to showcase their linguistic prowess while engaging in spirited and healthy competition. The fiesta witnessed a plethora of intellectually stimulating activities tailored for students from classes III to XII. More than 100 enthusiastic participants displayed a magnificent array of talent, creativity and expressive eloquence.

From gripping narratives to passionate arguments, the school campus buzzed with literary fervour as students confidently embraced various competitive arenas.

Celebrating ‘Champions of Eloquence’

The exceptional talent of the students shone brightly across several highly competitive categories, with several students claiming top honours.

In poem recitation, Reeyana and Pranjal mesmerised the audience with their rhythmic cadence and expressive delivery, while in story narration, the brilliant young storytellers of Standard V-A stole hearts with their highly engaging and creative group narration.

In spell bee, Vibhuti and Parth claimed victory by demonstrating impeccable spelling accuracy under pressure. Kavya and Jatin emerged triumphant, showcasing their quick thinking and extensive vocabulary in the word game.

In extempore, Anshika, Niharika and Bhavya claimed top spots with their spontaneous, articulate and well-structured speeches.

Arshita delivered a powerful, moving and highly persuasive speech to win the declamation, while in debate, Saanvi Sharma and Divyanshi Thakur dominated the forum with their sharp, logical and compelling arguments.

The grand finale of the literary week concluded with a prestigious felicitation ceremony. The chairman of the school management, LK Bansal, principal Dr Sneh Sharma and joint principal Pamposh Gupta, graced the occasion to acknowledge and applaud the exemplary dedication of the students and tireless efforts of the department of English. “Language is not just a medium of communication but a gateway to global opportunities. Seeing our students speak with such poise and intellect is deeply rewarding,” remarked Dr Sneh Sharma.

The school leadership warmly encouraged all students to keep exploring the vast world of literature, urging them to embrace continuous learning and personal growth in every academic and creative endeavour.
