Man nabbed from Mandi college for killing wife

HAMIRPUR: The police today arrested a person for killing his wife. The accused has been identified as Sumit Thakur. The victim, Poonam Thakur, was found dead in her rented accommodation on October 9.

The police today arrested a person for killing his wife. The accused has been identified as Sumit Thakur. The victim, Poonam Thakur, was found dead in her rented accommodation on October 9. She had started working at a showroom and was transferred to some other place. The police said the accused was not happy with the transfer and killed her.

SHO Sanjeev Gautam said the accused was nabbed from Nerchowk medical college in Mandi. It was learnt that the accused had attempted suicide after murdering his wife.

The accused will be produced in a local court tomorrow. The post-mortem report has confirmed death due to strangulation.
