Man shot at in Baddi, three suspects identified
Members of a rival gang reportedly came in black Creta bearing a Punjab registration number
A resident of Dakhnumajra village in Baddi was shot at last evening by members of a rival gang, who reportedly came in black Creta bearing a Punjab registration number. An injured Balwinder, alias Baloo, was referred to PGI, Chandigarh, after preliminary treatment at Baddi, SP Vinod Dhiman said.
Even as the police have identified three of the five accused involved in the incident, they are yet to be arrested. SP Vinod Dhiman said the three local suspects had been identified on the basis of eyewitness accounts and technical evidence. They are Shivdutt Pandit, a resident of Kishenpura; Rajan, a resident of Mariwala; and Rohit, a resident of Plat village near Dhabota. Two bullets hit Baloo in the leg and back while answering a phone call in the open.
As per an initial probe, the firing took place due to rivalry between two gangs, who have numerous criminal cases registered against them in Baddi.
