The Chandigarh-Manali national highway was restored to traffic between Mandi and Kullu districts around 10 am today.

The highway was blocked last evening due to a massive landslide at 7 Mile, near the town. The police diverted light vehicles via the Mandi-Kataula-Kullu route. The road is fit only for light vehicles.

In another landslide incident near the Victoria Bridge on the Pathankot-Mandi highway, a vehicle was damaged badly after a big boulder fell on it. At the time of incident, no one was inside the vehicle parked on the roadside.

Due to heavy rain, agricultural land in Tanva, Kumi and Syanh villages in the Balh valley of the district was submerged. Villagers said due to a poor drainage system, floodwaters entered their fields and damaged crops. They demanded compensation for the loss suffered.
