Mandi girl murder: Governor directs police to ensure stern action against accused
'Such acts of violence must be dealt with utmost severity,' says Kavinder Gupta
Himachal Pradesh Governor Kavinder Gupta has expressed deep anguish and strong condemnation over the brutal murder of a 19-year-old student in Sarkaghat of Mandi district. The Governor has directed police authorities to ensure strict and swift action against the culprit at the earliest.
Terming the incident as “heinous, inhuman and deeply disturbing,” the Governor said that such acts of violence are unacceptable and must be dealt with utmost severity. He also spoke with the Director General of Police (DGP) Ashok Tiwari and took a detailed report of the incident.
Expressing heartfelt condolences, the Governor conveyed his sympathies to the bereaved family. He also emphasized the need for continued vigilance and collective efforts to ensure the safety and security of citizens, especially women.
