Preparations are in full swing for the Aatmnirbhar Himachal Jan Sankalp Sammelan, scheduled to be held in Mandi on December 11. Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Anirudh Singh, along with Minister for Town and Country Planning and Technical Education Rajesh Dharmani and Dharampur MLA Chander Shekhar, reviewed the ongoing arrangements during a meeting held today in Mandi. The ministers also inspected the event venue at Paddal Ground.

Earlier, addressing a press conference here today, Minister Anirudh Singh refuted the claim of BJP that state government is going to celebrate its three-year tenure completion in Mandi. He clarified that it will not be celebratory function. It will be organised only to disburse relief amount to the affected families of rain disaster.

At the same time, the government will present its vision to the people of state through this event for next two years of Congress regime in the state. He said over 20,000 people are expected to join this event. For the success of this event, preparations are on full swing.

Later, chairing the review meeting at the Conference Hall of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Minister Anirudh Singh said on December 11, the state government under the leadership of Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu will complete three years in office. On this occasion, the Jan Sankalp Sammelan in Mandi will serve as a platform for the Chief Minister to present the government’s vision for the next two years towards building a self-reliant Himachal Pradesh.

He directed officers to ensure all arrangements are completed on time and emphasised that the event holds great importance for the state government. The minister instructed officials to make proper arrangements for transportation, accommodation and food for the beneficiaries arriving at the event. He also directed the Police Department to ensure adequate parking facilities for both small and large vehicles coming from outside the district and to deploy police personnel as needed at these locations.

The Municipal Corporation, Jal Shakti Department and other concerned agencies were instructed to ensure appropriate seating arrangements at the venue, along with drinking water, toilet facilities and installation of adequate dustbins. The minister added that to spread awareness about the state government’s welfare schemes and programmes, the event should also feature nukkad natak performances and awareness activities focused on the government’s anti-drug campaign.

Technical Education Minister Rajesh Dharmani reviewed important aspects related to transportation, parking and coordination for participants coming from other districts. He emphasised timely completion of preparations through inter-departmental cooperation. MLA Chander Shekhar also shared valuable suggestions during the review.

Deputy Commissioner Apoorv Devgan welcomed the ministers and briefed them about the arrangements made so far. He said preparations have begun as per the state government’s guidelines and various committees are being formed to streamline responsibilities.
