Mandi, April 20
Anil Sharma, BJP MLA from Mandi Sadar, today put his own government in the dock over development. He alleged that the government had failed to ensure reasonable development in his Mandi Sadar constituency.
He said, “Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur had laid the foundation stone of the Shiv Dham project at Kangnidhar last year to promote religious tourism. However, there are several ancient temples in the town, which are in a state of neglect. There is need to ensure circular connectivity from one temple to other to promote religious tourism”.
“There was a proposal to shift the prison building from Mandi to some other place but it was yet to be shifted. I had given a proposal to the government for the construction of a big ground at Khaliyar and a bypass to ease traffic congestion in the town but none paid heed to it. The construction of a parking at the school bazaar is hanging fire,” he added.
Anil Sharma is an estranged BJP MLA, who was forced to resign as Power Minister after his son Ashray Sharma contested the 2019 Lok Sabha elections as a Congress candidate against the BJP candidate from Mandi.
