Matthew House bags Auckland School sports day trophy

Matthew House emerged victorious in the senior section sports day at Auckland House School for Boys. French House emerged second in the competition while Durrant House and Lefroy House stood third and fourth, respectively. The programme began with the reception of the chief guest, Colonel Akash Singha, Commanding Officer, 7 HP NCC, followed by the inspection of the parade and an impressive march-past by students. The ceremonial salute reflected discipline and confidence that the school continues to instill in its students.

A series of colourful and energetic performances, including free-hand PT, yoga, gymnastics, bamboo PT and taekwondo showcased not only physical fitness but also the precision, coordination and dedication of the students. Skating races and musical chair events added excitement and cheer to the event.

The chief guest appreciated the school for nurturing young minds through sports alongside academics. He said that “sports teaches resilience, leadership and teamwork, qualities that shape responsible citizens and future leaders”. He encouraged students to embrace challenges both on the field and in life with confidence and discipline.
