Minister Negi disburses relief cheques to disaster victims of Una district
Says 14 locations identified in Una district under HP SHIVA project are being developed with technical and financial assistance to farmers
Revenue and Horticulture Minister Jagat Singh Negi disbursed cheques for Rs 75 lakh to 59 disaster-hit families of the Una Assembly segment on Saturday. He said that though the state was confronting a financial crisis, the government was firmly standing with the affected people in their difficult times.
Negi said that the government was providing financial relief to the victims of natural disasters that had struck the state in the past two years. The relief amount had been enhanced to Rs 7 lakh for a house washed away or completely damaged, he added.
The minister said that under the HP SHIVA project in the horticulture sector, 14 locations had been identified in Una district and were being developed with technical and financial assistance to farmers. He added that fruits such as guava, orange, litchi, dragon fruit and pomegranate were being encouraged under the project.
Negi said that the state government was promoting digitisation of services and schemes to bring in greater transparency in the delivery system and making them available to all sections of society. Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal and former Una MLA Satpal Raizada were also present on the occasion.
