Minister Negi inaugurates Rs 10.40-crore projects in Reckong Peo
Says government schools in Bhabanagar, Sangla and Kanam to be affiliated with CBSE
Revenue Minister Jagat Singh Negi inaugurated various developmental projects worth Rs 10.40 crore at Reckong Peo in Kinnaur on Tuesday. He said that the government was committed to ensuring the all-round development of the urban areas of Reckong Peo so that local people could avail of all basic amenities near their homes.
The minister inaugurated the Rashtrapita Mahatma Gandhi Park and a parking facility constructed at a cost of Rs 8 crore, Dr BR Ambedkar Government District Library constructed at a cost of Rs 40 lakh and a police residential building built at a cost of Rs 2 crore. He assured people that all pending developmental works in the district would be completed at the earliest.
Earlier, the minister, while addressing people during a Republic Day programme, said that the government was doing a commendable job in the education sector due to which the state now ranked fifth in the country in terms of quality education while its rank was 21 during the previous BJP government’s tenure.
“English-medium education has been introduced in government schools from Class I so that students do not have to deal with an inferiority complex while being compared with those studying in private schools,” he added.
Negi said that government schools in Reckong Peo, Bhabanagar, Sangla and Kanam would be affiliated with the CBSE to ensure quality education to the students of the district near their homes. He added that the state government had so far spent around Rs 93 crore on healthcare services in Kinnaur.
