The body of 13-year-old Ayush, who had gone missing on Tuesday, was recovered from a local rivulet, Gareli Khud, in Kherian gram panchayat of Nurpur on Wednesday morning after an intensive search by villagers.

Ayush, son of Joginder Singh of Katroh village and a Class VII student at a government school, had gone missing on Tuesday morning.

When the boy did not return home till evening, family members and villagers began searching for him and also lodged a missing report with the Nurpur police. A massive search operation was carried out late into the night, but no clue about the boy could be found.

The village youths resumed the search early on Wednesday morning and spotted the missing boy’s clothes on the bank of Gareli Khud.
