Missing Chirgaon boy traced to Shimla’s Dhalli

The police found the boy in the Dhalli area, 8 km from Shimla

A 14-year-old boy, who went missing from Chirgaon in Shimla district on February 8, has been found in Dhalli, near here, the police said on Tuesday. The boy had gone missing from his home few days ago after which his family had filed a complaint with the police. His mother said on February 8, she had gone to attend a ‘satsang’, along with her two sons. As she was returning, one of the boys went towards Chirgaon market and didn’t return home.

The family members launched a search in the market and adjoining areas, but were unable to find the boy. They tried to contact him on his mobile phone, but the calls were forwarded to his mother’s number.

Following the complaint, the police registered a case under Section 137 (2) (kidnapping) of BNS and launched a search operation. The police teams conducted an extensive search in Chirgaon, Dodra and adjoining areas, but without success.

The police found the boy in the Dhalli area, 8 km from Shimla. He had switched off his phone and was roaming in the area with his friend. Shimla SSP Gaurav Singh said the boy’s was safe and his family had been informed.
