MLA Butail rejects BJP’s ‘failure on all fronts’ charge against Palampur MC, terms allegations misleading
Senior Congress leader and Palampur MLA Ashish Butail has strongly refuted the allegations levelled by the BJP against the Palampur Municipal Corporation, stating that the claims of “failure on all fronts” are baseless, far from the truth and factually incorrect.
He was reacting to statements made by Vipin Singh Parmar, who targeted the functioning of the MC. Butail said the opposition was attempting to mislead the public for political mileage ahead of the upcoming civic body elections. He asserted that such charges do not reflect the actual work being carried out on the ground by the municipal body.
Butail emphasised that the MC had been actively engaged in improving civic infrastructure and public services in Palampur. He pointed out that several development works related to sanitation, road maintenance, and basic amenities have been undertaken despite various challenges. “The BJP is trying to paint a negative picture, but the reality is that consistent efforts are being made to address the concerns of the people,” he said.
Dismissing the accusations of administrative failure, Butail maintained that the Congress-led civic body remains committed to ensuring transparency and accountability in its functioning. He added that public welfare has always been a priority and that the MC has been responsive to local issues.
The Congress leader also took a swipe at the BJP, questioning its own performance and accusing it of indulging in “politics of misinformation” instead of constructive opposition. He said that rather than making unfounded allegations, the BJP should contribute positively towards the development of the town.
Expressing confidence in the public, Butail said the people of Palampur were well aware of the ground realities and would not be swayed by what he described as politically motivated statements.
He reiterated that development work will continue and efforts will be intensified to further improve civic services.
