Motorcyclist killed in Ronhat road accident

A motorcyclist was killed on Saturday afternoon after his bike plunged into a gorge following a collision with a Bolero pickup vehicle on the Solan-Meenas road near Ronhat in Sirmaur district.

The accident occurred at a narrow curve about 500 metres ahead of the Community Health Centre towards Ronhat market. The motorcycle (HP85AA1234) collided with the Bolero pickup, causing the rider to lose control and fall nearly 300 metres into a gorge near the Bhangal Khadd. The rider was killed on the spot.

The deceased was identified as 30-year-old Naveen Kumar of Kumbli village in the Sharli-Manpur area of Shillai Assembly constituency. He was working as a junior engineer with a private company and was travelling from Shillai towards Solan at the time of the accident.

Police and local residents reached the spot after receiving information, but the victim had already died. The body was sent to Shillai hospital for post-mortem and a case has been registered. Further probe was underway.
