A 34-year-old paraglider from Mumbai was injured in an accident during a flight near Garlok in the Padhar subdivision of Mandi district today. The injured has been identified as Parthik, a free flyer, who sustained internal injuries, particularly in his back.

According to information, Parthik had taken off from the world-renowned paragliding site at Billing. While the flight remained normal initially, he reportedly lost balance near the Garlok area during the landing phase and crashed to the ground.

Upon receiving the alert, a 108 ambulance service from Padhar Hospital rushed to the spot. Ambulance pilot Sohan Singh and EMT Anita provided immediate first aid to the injured before shifting him to Civil Hospital, Padhar for further treatment.

Doctors at the hospital administered primary care but later referred him to a higher medical facility due to the seriousness of his internal injuries.

The police have initiated an investigation to ascertain the exact cause of the accident.
