Union Minister JP Nadda and former Himachal CM PK Dhumal, participated in the 111th birth anniversary of Thakur Ram Singh, a renowned RSS worker, at the Thakur Ram Singh History Research Institute in Neri, Hamirpur, today. Paying tribute to Thakur Ram Singh, Dhumal said he was a great personality and his work in the field of history itself became a remarkable history. Dhumal said anyone who came into contact with Ram was influenced by his thoughts and personality.
He said that Neri was once a remote and relatively isolated place, but after the establishment of the institute of history research here, in accordance with Thakur Ram Singh’s wishes, several other institutions, such as a horticulture university centre, a college of hotel management and a technical university, were established in the surrounding areas. Dhumal said that the establishment of so many institutions in the region was the result of Thakur Ram Singh’s rigorous and tireless work.
He recalled that he had the good fortune of meeting Thakur Ram Singh. He said that he learnt a great deal from the personality about the sangh, the organisation, and the history of the nation.
The programme was presided over by Ishwar Sharan Vishwakarma, national president of All India History Compilation Scheme. The keynote speaker was Suresh Soni, member of the National Executive of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. Former Union Minister and MP Anurag Thakur, MPs Sikandar Kumar and Rajiv Bhardwaj, MLAs from across the state, former MLAs and a large number of workers and dignitaries were present on the occasion.
