Nalagarh blast: Court orders production of 2 BKI operatives

The Nalagarh police, which has been awaiting their custody, will interrogate the accused regarding their role in the blast and possible linkages in the case once they are produced before the court, a police officer said. As per the court orders, the Punjab Police will produce them at Nalagarh on February 25.

The accused have been identified as Shamsher Singh, alias Sheru, alias Kamal, and Pardeep Singh, alias Deepu, both residents of Rahon in Nawanshahr district. Investigators said the two are part of a narco-terror module linked to BKI.

According to the Punjab Director General of Police, the accused were acting on the directions of Shushant Chopra, a close associate of Gurpreet Singh, alias Gopi Nawanshahria, and BKI mastermind Harwinder Rinda.

Preliminary investigations revealed that on December 31, 2025, the accused, along with two accomplices, transported an IED from Punjab to Himachal Pradesh. The explosive device was subsequently used in the blast at the Nalagarh police station on January 1, 2026, as part of a larger conspiracy targeting police establishments.

Police said further investigations are underway to establish both backward and forward linkages in the case.
