Dr YS Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry (UHF), Nauni, signed an MoU with Western Sydney University (WSU), a premier institution of Australia, for various collaborative projects.

The memorandum has been signed under the National Agricultural Higher Education Plan of the Indian Council of Agriculture Research, funded by the World Bank for Institutional Development Project. Both institutions will work towards exchange of undergraduate students and academic staff for teaching and research.

The MoU was signed by VC Parvinder Kaushal and his Australian counterpart. KK Raina is the principal investigator of the project.

“The joint collaboration will strengthen our resolve to provide international exposure to our students and faculty. This will not only help them to compete globally, but also bolster the university’s reputation,” said Kaushal.

Three online short-term courses from the WSU on entrepreneurship development, remote sensing and scientific numeracy for the undergraduate students would begin soon. The first group of students will take 16-week online courses from the WSU, which will provide them insights into the entrepreneurship technology being used in Australia. They will also get an exposure on writing projects and research documents.

The IDP project will provide support to MSc and doctoral students of the university to avail fellowship from the partner institution.
