Search operation continued on the second day on Thursday to locate the bodies of the missing victims in BSL canal in Mandi district. However, till the filing of the report there was no clue about them.

On Tuesday night a jeep and an oil tanker had collided near Dhanotu under Sundernagar area. As a result, both the vehicles plunged into the BSL canal.

At the time of the incident three people were on board the jeep, which was on its way to Kullu, while lone driver was thee in oil tanker, which was on its way to Leh.

The driver of the jeep received grave injuries, while three victims fell into canal water along with the vehicles.

On Wednesday the district administration extricated the vehicles. Two teams of divers were engaged in long stretch of canal water on Thursday to locate the missing victims but the search proved futile.

Viram Singh, driver of oil tanker, is stated to be a native of Udhampur in Jammu and Kashmir, while jeep driver Dile Ram, and his two other companions Dharmender Kumar and Mani Ram are natives of Thachi in Mandi district.

Taranjeet Singh, DSP Sundernagar said there was no clue about the missing victims though two teams of expert divers were engaged in search operation. He said that the search operation would continue on Friday to locate the bodies.
