No Himachal doctor to retire till June 30

Shimla, March 25

The Himachal Pradesh Government today decided to defer the retirement of doctors, teaching faculty and para-medical staff in the Health Department and its medical college till June 30 in view of Covid-19 outbreak.

Also, doctors and paramedics who retired between December 31, 2017 and February 29, 2020, will be re-employed on their last post held. “This is being done to strengthen the manpower in various health institutions and medical colleges,” said RD Dhiman, Additional Chief Secretary, Health. HP is already grappling with acute shortage of doctors, especially specialists. — TNS
