Non-Himachali purchases land on forged documents in Palampur
A land purchase case in Palampur, in gross violation of Section 118 of the Land Reform Tenancy Act, by a person from outside Himachal on the basis of forged documents has come to light.
As per information gathered by The Tribune, Danish, son of Anvar, who is a non-Himachali, who cannot buy land in Himachal without seeking relaxation of Section 118 from the revenue authorities, managed to get the land deal. The details of the case point towards connivance of the revenue authorities in the case.
Sale deed seems to be fake: SDM
It is a very serious matter. The documents attached with the sale deed seem to be forged. The sale has apparently been registered in gross violation of rules. I will enquire into the matter first and then initiate the process for the cancellation of the sale deed. Netra Meti, Palampur SDM
The land was purchased in Bhawarna tehsil of Palampur subdivision, allegedly in connivance with revenue officials on the basis of forged documents. Danish, in connivance with revenue officials, managed a fake Himachali agriculturist certificate from a Patwari of Chowki circle of Palampur tehsil and got a sale deed registered in his name.
The Naib Tehsildar, Bhawarna, who executed the sale deed on April 16, 2024, did not verify the documents, especially in view of the fact that Anvar, who is from other state, could not be an agriculturist. The sale deed was registered on April 16, 2024, and mutation of land was also executed in gross violation of rules.
The Tribune also traced Anvar Mohammad, son of Shaffi Mohammad, whose agriculturist certificate was misused. Talking to this reporter, he said his agriculturist’s certificate was misused by Danish for the registration of sale deed in the court of registrar of Naib Tehsildar, Bhawarna. He said he was a permanent resident of Jwalamukhi and had land property in Himachal and the misuse of his certificate came to his knowledge only when contacted by this reporter.
He said he would file a criminal case in the court against Danish and revenue officials who had registered the sale deed. In the forged documents, Danish had been shown his son while he has only two daughters. Anvar Mohammad also provided a copy of his Parivar Register procured from local tehsil showing that he has only two daughters in the revenue record.
Palampur SDM Netra Meti, when contacted, said it was a very serious matter. The documents attached with the sale deed looks forged. She said that the sale had apparently been registered in gross violation of rules and she would enquire the matter first and initiated a process for the cancellation of the sale deed.
