NTA to operate examination centre at HPU’s Noida building
The Vice-Chancellor of Himachal Pradesh University, Acharya Sat Prakash Bansal, announced that the university’s Learning Resource Centre in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, will now be operated by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Previously, this centre was managed by the Centre of Distance and Online Education (CDOE) for academic activities. The NTA’s operation of the centre is expected to generate a monthly income of Rs 24 lakh for the university.
The VC shared that the centre had been closed for a long time following directives from the University Grants Commission (UGC). However, due to the university’s efforts, the building will now be leased to the NTA. An agreement regarding rent with NTA has already been finalised, and all necessary formalities will be completed in a timely manner. Part of the building will still be retained by the University for conducting online courses in the future.
The VC further mentioned that the building will be provided to the NTA for operating examination centres. He is personally overseeing the project, which is being monitored by a committee chaired by Pro-Vice-Chancellor Rajinder Verma, with members including the Director of CDOE Prof Sanju Karol, the Registrar, and the Finance Officer.
“The building had been vacant for a long time without any academic activities, and the university had to bear the costs of its maintenance. However, with NTA now utilizing the building for their examination centres, the university will receive approximately Rs 24 lakh per month in revenue,” said the VC.
