NURPUR, JULY 15

The HRTC has launched the AC bus service from Nurpur to Shimla via Kangra and Hamirpur.

Local MLA Rakesh Pathania flagged off the bus from Chogan bus stand here on Sunday. Pathania said it was a pending demand of the people as they had no AC bus service for Shimla, besides Hamirpur and Bilaspur.

He said the Nurpur-Chandigarh Volvo bus service had been discontinued during the previous government tenure due to faulty financial assessment and efforts were being made to restore this service.

The HRTC bus will depart from Nurpur at 9.10 am and arrive at Shimla at 6.20 pm. From Shimla, it will depart at 12.30 pm and arrive at Nurpur at 9.40 pm. The passengers visiting Kangra, Jwalaji, Hamirpur and Bilaspur will benefit.

The passenger has to pay Rs 114, Rs 183, Rs 259, Rs 388 and Rs 569 for travelling to Kangra, Jwalaji, Hamirpur, Bilaspur and Shimla.
