A physics teacher of Government Senior Secondary School, Gangath (Nurpur), was booked for molesting girl students today. The case was registered following protest by students.

Tension prevailed in the school due to protest and sloganeering by students. The school administration called the police who pacified the protesting students and started preliminary investigations into the allegations levelled by some girl students.

The girls, in their statement, alleged that accused Narinder Dhiman had been molesting them for the past three months. They alleged that he used to call them in the school laboratory and molested them. He also lured them saying he would give the maximum marks in the internal assessment in their annual examination.

The Deputy Director, Secondary Education, Dharamsala, took a serious note of the allegations and sent a team led by Anil Kundra, Principal, Government Senior Secondary School, Sadwan (Nurpur), on the spot to conduct a departmental inquiry.

DSP Sahil Arora said a case under Sections 354, 354(A) and 506 of the IPC and POCSO Act had been registered against the teacher. He said an investigation was being conducted into the case.

The accused said he had been framed in a false case.
