Nurpur’s Sanjiv clears Civil Services exam

Sanjiv, who hails from Bher-Khud village in Punder gram panchayat, Nurpur, was selected in the Himachal Pradesh Police as sub-inspector in 2020. He cracked the UPSC examination in his second attempt.
Presently, Sanjiv is serving as an inspector in the state Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau at Nahan.
His success in the Civil Services examination has brought cheer to residents of his native gram panchayat.
Sanjiv's grandmother Beeno Devi, father Pyar Singh, a daily wage earner, and mother Veena Devi have expressed their jubilation on his success.
Sanjiv completed his schooling up to matriculation at Government High School, Jonta, and did his Plus Two from Government Senior Secondary School, Kotla.
After doing BSc (non-medical), he completed MA in political science from Government College, Dharamsala.
Before appearing in the Civil Service Examination, Sanjiv had made five attempts at the Himachal Administrative Service (HAS) exam. He appeared in the personal interview of the HAS exam, but remained unsuccessful. However, this didn’t dampen his spirits and he started preparation for the UPSC examination while serving in the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau.
