Dharamsala, August 2

Sudhir Sharma, Congress leader, today celebrated his birthday on the Dari ground here as ‘Vikas Divas’.

‘Dharamsala neglected in past 5 years’

Himachal and the Dharamsala constituency have been neglected in the past five years. People are eager to change the government. The Congress is united in Kangra district and will win all 15 Assembly seats. — Sudhir Sharma, Congress Leader

Almost all prominent Congress leaders from Kangra district such as AICC secretary RS Bali, former MP Chander Kumar, MLA from Palampur Ashish Butail, former MLAs Jagjivan Paul and Yadwinder Goma and HPCC general secretary Kewal Singh Pathania were present. However, leaders from Dharamsala, including former mayor Davinder Jaggi, were not present. HPCC president Pratibha Singh also participated in the event.

Pratibha praised Sudhir for carrying out various development projects in Dharamsala, including the Smart City project. She said most of the works were carried out during the stint of the Congress government headed by former Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh.

Sudhir presented a show of strength on his birthday. He was targeted by leaders from Dharamsala when he refused to contest the byelection in 2019. Thereafter, the party also lost the Dharamsala Municipal Corporation poll due to infighting. He said his supporters wanted to celebrate his birthday as ‘Vikas Divas’.
