Mandi, June 28
Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur today said that soon an airport would be constructed in Mandi district and the state government was moving forward in this direction. He added that some leaders of the Opposition were trying to mislead people over the issue.
Thakur said that the greenfield airport of Mandi would be ready soon; it would be the biggest project of the district. He added that a company would be established with the help of the Airports Authority of India and the process of land acquisition would be started.
He said that in the past four and a half years, the state government had done tremendous development. The Municipal Corporation of Mandi was also the gift of the government to the people of the town, he added.
Thakur said the first phase of the Shiv Dham was nearing completion and it would be an added attraction for tourists. He added that Medical University had been established at Ner Chowk.
