UNA, DECEMBER 25

Nine Pakistani flags of the size of handbills, joined with a string, were found lying near the electrical substation in the industrial area of Tahliwal in Haroli. Shreds of a torn balloon were also attached to the string, implying that the flags were tied to a balloon and set aloft from some place.

The flags, in three separate colours of green, yellow and pink, have the words ‘Jaish-e-Azadi’ written in Urdu language. A sizeable number of Muslim population resides around the area and prayers were held a few months ago. They were stopped offering prayers on the intervention of some locals.

In-charge of the Haroli police station Raman Kumar said the flags had been confiscated and investigations initiated.
