In a crackdown on drug traffickers, the Parwanoo police arrested a Manimajra resident last evening for selling heroin to two youths and also recovered the contraband from his residence. He has been identified as Shivam, alias Kaku (25), a resident of New Indore Colony, Manimajra.
The police zeroed in on Kaku after a team arrested two motorcycle-borne youths with 7.34 grams of heroin on January 31. One of the accused was identified as Aryan (18), a resident of Pinjore, while the other accused was found to be a minor offender hailing from the same place.
A case under Sections 21 and 29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances was registered at Parwanoo on January 31. Aryan was arrested and the juvenile offender was handed over to his relatives after interrogation. Aryan was produced before a court on February 1, which remanded him to the four-day police custody. During the course of investigation, the police learnt that the contraband was purchased from Manimajra for Rs 14,000 from one Shivam.
“After examining technical evidence, like call details and other digital inputs, the police arrested Shivam last evening from his residence and recovered 7 grams of heroin from his possession,” Solan SP Gaurav Singh said.
