The sub-divisional Animal Husbandry Department in Kaza has announced that the physical test for recruitment to the posts of ‘Pashu Mitra’ will be conducted at the Ladarcha Fair Ground near Kaza Public School in Lahaul-Spiti district on April 21. According to Dr Dakpa Tenzin, Member Secretary of the PMEC and Senior Veterinary Officer at the Sub-divisional Veterinary Hospital, Kaza, two vacancies for ‘Pashu Mitra’ are to be filled under the revised notification of the Pashu Mitra Policy-2025. For these positions, 51 applications have been received from interested candidates.
All 51 applicants are required to undergo a mandatory physical test as part of the selection process. The test will be conducted in two sessions the same day. The male candidates will undergo a physical test from 9 am to noon while the female candidates will be tested from 3 pm onwards.
The candidates have been instructed to report well in advance for registration. The male applicants must reach the venue by 8 am while the female applicants are required to report by 2 pm. It is mandatory for all candidates to carry a valid photo identity proof for verification at the time of registration to ensure the smooth and timely conduct of the tests.
The department has already dispatched intimation letters to all applicants via post. However, in case any candidate has not received the communication, they are advised to contact the office of the Sub-Divisional Veterinary Hospital, Kaza, by 4 pm on April 20.
The physical test will include a running component designed to assess endurance and fitness. The male candidates will be required to complete a 5,000-metre run within 30 minutes while the female candidates must complete a 1,500-metre run within 10 minutes.
The authorities concerned have made it clear that the candidates failing to report at the designated venue, date and time will be marked absent and no separate opportunity will be provided. Additionally, mobile phones will not be permitted inside the testing venue and the candidates must make their own arrangements to keep them outside.
Before participating, all applicants must sign a self-declaration confirming their physical fitness and willingness to undertake the test. The declaration must affirm that the candidate is free from any heart, respiratory, spinal or pregnancy-related conditions that can be adversely affected during the test.
