Plantation drive at Sanawar School

Students of Lawrence School, Sanawar, planted 250 saplings of deodar on the school premises. Addressing the students, Solan District Forest Officer Dr Shreshta Nand said the students should treat every day as ‘Environment Day’ to save the planet, which was in deep climatic crisis. He praised the school for its commitment towards ensuring a clean and green environment. Guest of honour was Pradeep Moudgil, Assistant Environmental Engineer of State Pollution Control Board.

Non-teaching staff threaten protest

The Non-teaching Employees of Himachal Pradesh University have submitted a memorandum to the university administration, demanding resolution of their grievances within three days. The employees have threatened to launch an agitation if their demands are not met within the given time frame. The employees said they had suffered as the meeting of the Recruitment and Promotional Committee was not held on time, and they were yet to receive the benefits of the Sixth Pay Commission recommendations.

BEd counselling from Aug 8

The online counselling for BEd courses of the Department of Education, Himachal Pradesh University, Government College of Teacher Education, Dharamsala, and self-financed BEd colleges affiliated to HPU and Sardar Patel University, Mandi, will commence from August 8.
