A multilingual poetry collection ‘Gyan Sarita’ was launched at H2O House in Chaminu village on Sunday. A unique collection is a treasure trove of poems by 31 emerging and renowned poets from various districts of Himachal Pradesh, each poem has been thoughtfully crafted around child psychology and other interests.

The poetry collection edited by Yudhveer Tandon and co-edited by Kiran Kumar Vashishth has contributions from esteemed poets like Shakti Chand Rana, Kamlesh Sood, Anita Bhardwaj, Dr Kavita Bijlwan, Pooja Sood Dogar, Uttam Suryavanshi, Shyam Ajnabi, Maharaj Singh Pardesi, Dr Vikas Gupta, Kehar Singh Rajouria, and many others. ‘Gyan Sarita’ has been published by Nikhil Publishers and Distributors, Agra.

The launch event was held in two sessions. The chief guest of the first session, Bhag Singh Chauhan, Deputy Director of Inspection, Chamba, emphasised the importance of literature in society. He remarked that ‘Gyan Sarita’ not only resonates the emotions of children but also serves as a guiding light for society.

The first session also featured an insightful review of the book by Ashish Behl. His analysis brought to light the profound meanings embedded within each page of ‘Gyan Sarita’.

Co-editor Kiran Kumar Vashishth praised the poets for their work, underscoring the vital role poetry played in the mental and emotional development of the society.

In the second session, renowned biologist and retired principal, Vipin Chand Rathore, graced the event as the chief guest. He highlighted how literature, particularly poetry, was an invaluable heritage that fostered positive change in society.

During the session, editor Yudhveer Tandon expressed heartfelt gratitude to the poets, chief guests, and the organising committee.

All participating poets were awarded the ‘Gyan Sarita Samman’.The event was graced by notable literary figures from Himachal Pradesh, including Jagjit Azad, Subhash Sahil, Feroz Kumar Roj, Bhupender Jasrotia, Hingraj Chirag, Bhavna Maroul, and Keval Bharti.
