Solan: The Paonta Sahib police seized 151 kg poppy husk from the riverbed of Yamuna river on Saturday evening taking the total quantity nabbed in the past 10 days to 451 kg. DSP Paonta Sahib, Bir Bahadur, said this contraband was seized on the instance of Mohammed Shaan from the same riverbed where 150 kg was found earlier hidden in pits. The fresh seizure was made from bushes near the Behral inter-state barrier. Shaan was among the three persons arrested by the police on Saturday in the 350-kg poppy husk seizure made about 10 days ago.

Woman dies weeks after receiving jab

Shimla: An anganwari worker, who was administered Covid vaccine on January 29, died at the IGMC on Sunday morning after being unwell for about 15 days. The woman hailed from Hamipur. Asked if her death could be considered a case of adverse effect following immunisation, Medical Superintendent, IGMC, Dr Janak Raj said nothing could be said with certainty before the post-mortem examination.
