Power relief: Himachal cuts tariff by 1 paisa per unit

The Distributing Utilities Ranking (DUR) Report published by the Power Ministry today assessed 41 discoms across the private and public sectors in states.

The Himachal Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission (HPERC) has reduced the energy charges prevailing at present by one paisa per unit for all categories of consumers for 2026-27. In the tariff order issued for Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board Limited (HPSEBL), the commission has estimated the HPSEBL’s annual revenue requirement (ARR) of Rs 8636.16 crore for 2026-27 compared to Rs 8403.25 crore in 2025-26.
