Prerna Utsav ends, aspirants get free study material in Una

The district-level Prerna Utsav-2026 was organised at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Pekhubela, where students from over 20 schools participated. Prerna is a flagship initiative of the Union Government’s Department of School Education and Literacy which aims to strengthen leadership skills, creativity, moral values and the vision of a developed India among students. One male and one female student participated from each school.

Som Lal Dhiman, Deputy Director of Una district’s elementary education department, who was the chief guest on the occasion, said students showcased their talent, innovation, creative thinking and commitment to nation-building. Girish Chand, Principal, Kendriya Vidyalaya, Bangana, was also present as a special guest on the occasion.

Raj Singh, Principal of the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, said the institution had been taking initiatives towards promoting academic excellence and providing sound guidance to students preparing for national level competitive examinations. He said as part of a similar initiative, meritorious students of classes XI and XII, who are preparing for the JEE and NEET exams, have been provided study material for these competitions free of cost today.

The Principal stated that these students were regularly studying through the Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti’s Lakshya portal and actively participating in ongoing test series. In recognition of the students’ dedication, consistent efforts and performance, these students have been provided books by Avanti Fellows in collaboration with the Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti free of charge.
