SHIMLA: President Ram Nath Kovind has granted his approval to present President’s Colours to the Himachal Police. The decoration is in recognisation of glorious record and professional achievement of the state police in the past 70 years.

President Ram Nath Kovind has granted his approval to present President’s Colours to the Himachal Police. The decoration is in recognisation of glorious record and professional achievement of the state police in the past 70 years.

"The Himachal Police owes this reward to its personnel, who have worked tirelessly over the years to make it credible, professional, honest and people-friendly," DGP SR Mardi said. He added that a ceremony would be organised at an appropriate time to award President’s Colours to the HP Police.

For President’s Colours, the flag should have an embroidered crest of the Himachal Police in the centre. Below the crest, the Himachal Police in Devanagari should be embroidered in golden colour. The blue and yellow flag shall have an embroidered golden border with stars.

“Nirbhaya, Nishpaksh, Satyanishth” are the guiding principles of the Himachal Police.

"Braving harsh weather, mountainous topography and vulnerability to natural disasters, steps taken by the police to address issues of crime against women and children, trafficking of narcotics have been applauded by all stakeholders," a release issued here today stated.
