The upcoming convocation of Chaudhary Sarwan Kumar Himachal Pradesh Krishi Vishvavidyalaya (CSK HPKV), Palampur, is set to be a landmark event with President Droupadi Murmu scheduled to preside over the ceremony on April 30.
For the first time in the university’s 47-year history, the President will confer degrees and gold medals upon graduating students.
Vice-Chancellor Dr Ashok Panda has extended formal invitations to all former Vice-Chancellors, acknowledging their pivotal role in shaping the institution’s academic and research excellence.
Former VCs, including Dr SK Sharma, Prof Ashok Sarial, Dr DK Vats and Dr Naveen Kumar, expressed gratitude for the gesture, stating that it reflects the university’s strong institutional legacy and continuity. They noted that the occasion would serve as a moment of pride and inspiration for students and faculty alike.
The ceremony will witness the conferment of degrees to undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral students, along with awards to meritorious candidates.
