Probe teachers’ appointment: Cong

Hamirpur, November 25

Merit was ignored in the appointment of teachers in Himachal Pradesh University (HPU), Shimla, alleged Sunil Sharma, a member of the All India Congress Committee, here today. He submitted a memorandum in this regard to the Governor, through the Deputy Commissioner.

Sharma alleged that an Assistant Professor was selected ignoring merit and many such instances could surface if the matter is investigated thoroughly. He said that an M.Tech candidate was appointed by ignoring a Ph.D candidate. He urged the Governor to intervene in the matter to protect the reputation of the institution and the state as well.

All such appointments should be put on hold until the investigation was completed.
