Shimla, April 15
Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur has asked the Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation to take effective steps to boost business that was hit hard due to Covid outbreak and make efforts to ensure that all units turn profitable.
Daily wagers regularised
The board approved the proposal to regularise the services of daily wage workers, who have completed four years in job. It also approved the appointment of all eligible applicants on compassionate grounds.
The Chief Minister directed the corporation officials to take steps to boost tourism in the Kullu-Manali-Keylong-Jispa circuit. He asked them to undertake an occupancy analysis, training programmes for employees, and promotion of hotels and services to increase the business.
The CM was speaking while presiding over the 157th meeting of the Board of Directors of the corporation.
The board approved the proposal to regularise the services of daily wage workers, who have completed four years in job. It also approved the appointment of all eligible applicants on compassionate grounds and decided to merge 107 trainees of different categories, as per the rules. The budget for 2022-23 was also cleared.
The CM stressed the need for wide publicity of tourism units through social media for effective marketing. He expressed happiness over the efforts of the corporation to promote identified units as wedding destinations.
Amit Kashyap, Managing Director of the corporation, apprised the CM about the measures being taken to increase its business.
