Activists of the Guru Ravidas Mahasabha of Una district today held up traffic at the main bus stand chowk for half-an-hour to protest the demolition of an over 500-year-old Guru Ravidas temple in Delhi last Saturday. The temple wsa demolished on the orders of the apex court.
The protesters were joined by the district Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee and the BSP workers. The activists marched from the municipal park to the bus stand chowk, demanding the Union government to re-construct the temple.
The protesters later submitted a memorandum to the President and the Prime Minister through the district administration.
President of the Guru Ravidas Sadhu Samaj Ravinder Das, district president of the Guru Ravidas Mahasabha Naresh Sainsowal and SGPC member from Himachal Pradesh Daljeet Singh Bhinder led the protest.
