Quality infra in border villages will promote tourism: Kinnaur DC

Deputy Commissioner, Kinnaur, Amit Kumar Sharma on Wednesday chaired a meeting under the Vibrant Village Scheme and directed the officials concerned to ensure high-quality construction in border villages. He said that this would help in promoting tourism in border areas and strengthening the local economy through better infrastructure.

Sharma reviewed the status of various ongoing development works in the border and remote panchayats of the district. Discussions were held with the officials concerned regarding the construction of a link road at Chuling village in Pooh subdivision, entrance gate in Sumra gram panchayat, bridge in Nesang gram panchayat, border forest parks, bus stand, eco-park in Chitkul and a meditation centre in Liyo village.

Sharma said that as a result of the efforts of Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, the Union Government approved trade with China through Shipki La village, which is going to be very beneficial for the locals.
