Rain washes away house, Jawali family sustains minor injuries

NURPUR:A family living in a two-room house managed to escape with minor injuries as their house collapsed last evening due to heavy rain.

NURPUR, AUGUST 19 

A family living in a two-room house managed to escape with minor injuries as their house collapsed last evening due to heavy rain. The incident took place at Bhaloon village in Jawali sub-division.

Ganesh Kumar along with his children was watching television when the incident took place. Locals rushed to the spot and took out the household items underneath the debris.

Jawali SDM Arun Sharma said the victims would be given financial help as per the relief manual. 

In addition, houses of Salamdeen of Aghar, Kuldeep Chand of Rod, Krishna Devi of Thora and Bir Singh of Kandwal collapsed partially after the torrential rain. 

Nurpur SDM Surinder Thakur said the field revenue staff had been directed to assess the loss of properties of the affected families.
