Shimla September 20
The newly appointed in-charge of Congress affairs in Himachal, Rajiv Shukla, will be in the state on a two-day visit on September 24, HPCC president Kuldeep Rathore said here yesterday. Rajni Patil held the post earlier.
“Rajiv Shukla, who has been entrusted with the responsibility of the party affairs in Himachal, will be arriving here on September 24,” said Rathore while addressing mediapersons here. He added Shukla was not new to Himachal, and had worked here earlier also. He said, “Shukla will also visit Hamirpur, Kangra and Mandi parliamentary constituencies for which dates will be finalised shortly”. He added that the party was preparing for the panchayati raj elections scheduled later this year.
Rathore said that the Congress played the role of a constructive Opposition during the monsoon session of the Vidhan Sabha that concluded yesterday and raised several public issues. He accused the Jai Ram government of failing to effectively tackle the Covid crisis.
