Rajput Kalyan Sabha to organise family gathering event in Palampur on Ram Navami

The executive committee of Rajput Kalyan Sabha, Palampur, convened here today under the chairmanship of sabha president Milap Chand Rana. The meeting was attended by senior office-bearers and prominent members, who deliberated extensively on forthcoming social and community initiatives.

After detailed discussions, the committee unanimously resolved to organise a ‘Rajput Parivar Milan’ (Rajput family gathering) on the auspicious occasion of Ram Navami, The central objective of the programme is to promote kutumb prabodhan (family awareness) and to strengthen family values, social harmony, unity and cultural consciousness within the community.

Addressing the members, president Rana stated that comprehensive arrangements would be made to ensure enthusiastic participation of members along with their families. As part of the celebrations, an idol of Lord Radha-Krishna will be ceremoniously installed within the premises of Maharana Pratap Bhawan.

The programme will feature a havan and other religious rituals, along with cultural and devotional activities specially designed for children and women.

The event will commence from Maharana Pratap Bhawan and proceed in the form of a grand procession through the main market of Palampur. Traditional Rajput turbans for men and customary patkas for women are expected to add cultural splendour and vibrancy to the procession. The celebrations will conclude with a grand community feast.

Senior vice president and former vice-chancellor of CSK Himachal Pradesh Agricultural University Prof Ashok Saryal emphasised that a well-organised and socially cohesive society formed the foundation of a strong democracy. He observed that initiatives such as family gatherings and kutumb prabodhan played a vital role in preserving cultural heritage, strengthening social bonds, and safeguarding community interests. He further informed members that the sabha had set a target of ensuring participation from more than 500 families in the event.
