The Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board Limited (HPSEBL) has held back the decision

to charge enhanced Advanced Consumer Deposit (ACD) on new power connections.

The charges were increased at least four times some time back.

Following the public outrage over the charges,

the department had approached the Himachal Pradesh High Court to get a stay to reconsider the decision.

On the petition of the electricity board, the High Court today asked the Himachal Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission (HPERC) to reconsider the decision.
